| has studied graduate
level Music Education at Northwestern University. In 1970, she and
Patricia Daley were instrumental in creating a pilot program which grew
to become Mercy Center of the Arts. She holds memberships in the
National Association for the Education of Young Children and National
Association of Pastoral Musicians.
FACULTY
Sister Margaret Park majored in
Elementary Education at Mercyhurst College with an academic
concentration in Science. She has done additional study at both
Edinboro University and Mercyhurst,and has received her M.Ed.
in Science Education from Clarion University with special emphasis on
the teaching of Science to the very young. Sister holds membership
in NSTA and is a certified teacher.
Catherine Dugan completed her
Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Communication Arts from Gannon
University. She also obtained her teaching certificate from Gannon
University. She has been teaching at Mercy Center of the Arts
since 1989. Her background includes the study of dance, piano, and
sacred organ, as well as art and pottery.
Deborah Lindvay received her
Bachelor of Science degree in Art Education and Elementary Certification
in Education at Edinboro University. Her paintings, pencil, ink and
pastel drawings and photographs have been exhibited at Panorama
Exhibits, Millcreek Township's Faculty Art Show, Erie Art Museum's
Spring Shows, and regionally. In past years, Deborah has directed
the Summer Art Programs and after school art classes for elementary age
children at Mercy Center of the Arts.
Sister Rita Marie Hettish joined the
faculty in September of 2006. She taught young children for many years at
St. George School, and brings with her many years of professional
experience and dedication. Sister Rita Marie oversees the Creative
Exploration area of the program and encourages the development of social skills.
