Administration and Faculty

Amanda Boots

Director, Art, and Music Teacher

In 2016, “Miss Amanda” started her journey with Mercy Center as the secretary. Two years zoomed by, and she was named the assistant director. In 2021, the board requested a recommendation for her to become director and was approved! As a graduate of Mercyhurst University, she holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Early Childhood/Special Education and a Master of Science degree in Special Education. When she is not at Mercy Center, Miss Amanda is the program director for the Carpe Diem Academy at Mercyhurst University. The Carpe Diem Academy employs Mercyhurst graduate students to educate students in kindergarten, first, and second grade who reside in Erie’s Public Schools. She will put her teaching certificate to good use as the art and music teacher this year. Miss Amanda is very excited for a new school year and loves being part of the Mercy Center of the Arts family.

Kara Fracassi

Science, Math, and Friday Special Teacher

"Ms. Kara" is very excited to be teaching in the same classroom she attended as a first grader decades ago. She later went on to graduate from Mercyhurst Prep High School and Gannon University. After graduating from Gannon, she decided to stay home and raise her three boys. Ms. Kara has a copious amount of experience with young children and will bring a new perspective to the science and math areas at Mercy Center. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with husband and boys. Her favorite hobbies include reading and drinking Starbucks coffee!

Sarah Waite

Secretary and Classroom Support

“Ms. Sarah” started her Mercy Center journey as a student when the preschool was located under the Sisters of Mercy Motherhouse! When it was time for her children to attend preschool, she immediately chose Mercy Center. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Penn State Behrend and among her professional accomplishments, being a mom is her greatest and most rewarding title. Recently, she has been named Vice President of the Belle Valley Elementary PTA. She believes that students thrive in an environment surrounded with positivity, creativity, and encouragement. While not at Mercy Center or volunteering at Belle Valley, Ms. Sarah loves outdoor adventures with her family and friends. Her happy place is on the beach watching the sunset with her husband and two children. She is excited to be a part of the Mercy Center of the Arts family once again!
